Beal High School

The challenge

The scope was extensive, involving detailed floor plans for more than ten separate buildings spread across a large and busy educational campus. Working within an active school environment meant navigating restricted access times, safeguarding requirements, and ensuring minimal disruption to staff and students.

This project also reflects our wider experience within the education sector, as Beal High School is one of many schools we have successfully surveyed.

The solution

To deliver the level of detail required, we implemented a structured survey programme coordinated around the school’s timetable and operational needs.

Using high-resolution laser scanning combined with traditional measurement methods, we captured the internal layout of each building efficiently and accurately, including classroom blocks, specialist teaching areas, circulation corridors, and service spaces.

A robust control network was established across the campus to maintain accuracy from building to building, and clear communication with school staff ensured safe, unobtrusive progress throughout the survey.

The outcome

The client received a comprehensive set of CAD floor plans covering every building on the site, each presented clearly and consistently to support architects, planners, and project managers in their ongoing work.

Despite the scale of the campus and the challenges of operating within a live school environment, the survey was delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high professional standard. The resulting drawings now provide Beal High School with a reliable foundation for future improvements and further demonstrate our capability in delivering full-campus surveys across the education sector.
